Our team of paediatric therapists are experienced in working with children and their families. The assessment process includes a comprehensive examination of your child’s movement and additional difficulties using a range of standardised and non-standardised assessments. Taking time to learn about the concerns and difficulties your child encounters in everyday life also forms an important component of our assessment.

Child First Paediatric Therapists can assist your child in:
• Treatment for fine motor control addressing activities such as; hand writing, use of switches, scissors or buttons
• Work on activities of daily living such as; washing, dressing and eating
• Postural and seating assessments for wheelchairs or bed positioning systems
• Prescription of equipment help making everyday tasks a little easier
• Assessment of the home or school to assist with access

We work to a Family Centred Model of treatment so parents feel like a vital part of the team in the assessment and treatment process. Discussions with you are essential to develop priorities for treatment. Your child’s therapist will provide and support you to implement therapy strategies into the home and school environment. We are happy to liaise with other allied health professionals involved in your child’s care.
