Child First - Music
We assist children

This program is designed to smoothly transition children into school music programs such as band.
Specialised Equipment includes
• Utilising various musical instruments to develop your child’s musical skills such as rhythm, sequencing, breath control and reading music

Tracking your child’s progress

Tracking progress helps you and your child remain motivated. Standardised and non-standardised assessments as well as observations and conversations with you, your child and your child’s music teacher are used to track your child’s musical abilities.

Your child’s program

Your child’s program will involve strengthening and development of the following skills (but not limited to):
• Fine motor skills
• Respiration and breathing techniques
• Timing and sequencing
• Reading music
• Individual skills to assist transitioning to playing an instrument in a group environment

Our highly experienced occupational therapists will work with you and your child to develop a fun and engaging program to reach your child’s music goals to assist them transitioning into a school music program or band.
