School Readness
We assist children

• Who will be going to school in the next few years and require assistance to develop and refine their fine motor, gross motor, visual perceptual and handwriting skills in preparation for Kindergarten
Specialised Equipment includes
• Gross motor equipment
• Fine motor equipment
• Visual perceptual games and activities
• Pre-handwriting activities

Tracking your child’s progress

Tracking progress helps you and your child remain motivated. Standardised and non-standardised assessments include assessing your child’s fine motor speed and dexterity, gross motor skills, visual perceptual abilities and pre-handwriting activities.

Your child’s program

Your child’s program will encompass a range of varied activities to well equip them for commencing school. Programs will include some of, and not limited to the following activities:
• Gross motor skills- such as strengthening of their hopping, jumping, skipping, postural and core muscle tone with the use of suspended equipment, balance beams and exercise balls
• Fine motor skills – putty, jumping frogs and activities with resistance as well as activities requiring age appropriate control and dexterity
• Visual perceptual games and activities – such as puzzles, visual memory and visual figure-ground activities
• Pre-handwriting activities – such as appropriate pencil grip and practicing of correct letter and number formations

The Team

Our highly experienced occupational therapists will work closely with you and your child to participate in sessions to develop and strengthen their school readiness skills.
