Making an Appointment

You do not need a referral from a doctor to make appointment with one of our therapists.  However, if you have already seen your doctor and you have a referral, please bring this along.

If you are receiving funded treatment through an insurer or Lifetime Care and Support, please contact your Case Manager or third party to discuss a referral to our services.  We will be happy to talk directly with your funder to assist with authorisation.

Your First Appointment

Thank you for choosing Rehab on the Move to look after your therapy needs.  You will receive specialised care and remain fully informed throughout the treatment process. The first step is to decide where you would like to receive therapy, be it at home or in our rooms at Pymble.  An appointment can then be booked to get you started. You will receive a Welcome Pack to confirm your appointment.  This will also include a consent form; funding authorisation; and your rights and responsibilities as clients of Rehab on the Move.

If you are booked into our rooms, please arrive about 10 minutes early for your first appointment so we can introduce you to our facilities and give you time to fill out our client details form. If you are attending for physiotherapy, please select clothes and footwear which will allow you to exercise.  Loose clothing or shorts are great to allow you to move and let the physio see exactly what is going on.

At your first session your therapist will:

  • Make you feel at ease
  • Take a full history, identifying your main problems
  • Conduct a thorough assessment, including standardised testing where appropriate
  • Set goals with you to direct your therapy and make sure we address your greatest areas of concern
  • Devise a treatment plan
  • Discuss the initial findings of your assessment in non-technical language so you really understand what is going on
